There was mild drama at the Senate Yesterday, April 4, 2017 as  Senate Minority leader, Godswill Akpabio was stopped from gate-crashing into  the APC caucus meeting.

The meeting which was presided over by Chief John Odigie Oyegun involved topnotch in APC, and lasted for about two hours behind closed doors.

The Senate Minority leader, who was suddenly sighted heading towards the meeting venue, became the cynosure of all, hence, some journalists rushed to see what was happening.

As he attempted opening the door, a security man immediately barricaded the entrance and he had to explain that he wanted to whisper into the ears of the Senate President.

The security, however, insisted that he should not enter. Efforts to make him speak on reasons he wanted to see Mr. Senate President at that auspicious time proved abortive as he kept sealed lips while he left.

The Senate caucus meeting with Chief John Odigie Oyegun national working Committee was the first of its kind since APC took over governance.

The National Working Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC) led by Chief John Odigie Oyegun held a closed door meeting with Senators on the platform of the APC, apparently to intervene in the face-off between the legislators and the executive arm of government.

Oyegun who arrived at the Senate hearing room with the entire members of his Committee is set to discuss the suspension of Senator Ali Ndume representing Borno South Senatorial district an other sundry issues.

Senate President, Dr Bukola Saraki and Dino Melaye on whose allegations the erstwhile Senate leader was suspended penultimate week are also in the meeting.

The APC Controlled Legislature has surprisingly been at loggerheads with the Presidency over the confirmation of some of its nominees, prominent among whom is Ibrahim Magu of the Economic and Financial Commission.
