Hameed Ali has been summoned to appear before the senate on Wednesday, March 9, in his uniform, Ali told TVC that he was appointed to do a job, adding that he wondered if the uniform would do the job or the individual appointed.

He said: “I’m yet to receive invitation, if proper procedures for official invitations are followed, I will appear before Senate.”

”Am i doing my job or not? , i think that is what should bother the national assembly.”

Senator Dino Melaye representing Kogi West senatorial district had moved a motion during plenary on Thursday, March 9 that the Customs boss must be called to order.

Melaye said reports on the newspapers of Thursday that the Customs would continue with policy as against the Senate’s order was a coup on democracy and would not be accepted.

He prayed that Hameed Ali should be re-summoned and made to appear live in plenary and not before senate committee on customs. He must also be in Customs uniform.
