You don’t see anything good in others, Fayose lashes at Obasanjo

Ekiti state Governor Ayodele Fayose lashed out at former president, Olusegun Obasanjo for note seeing any good in others.

The Ekiti governor had caused controversy when he insulted Obasanjo insisting that Obasanjo needs to learn to behave like a true elder statesman.

The Punch reports that Fayose spoke about Obasanjo again when he visited General Abdulsalami Abubakar, former head of state.

He said the former head of state and others who work to keep Nigeria stable do not see themselves as saint.

He applauded Abubakar for his contribution to the country’s unity during and after the 2015 general elections.

Fayose said: “Former President Olusegun Obasanjo must take a cue from somebody like General Abdulsalami Abubakar who is working for the unity and stability of the country.

“President Obasanjo must behave like a true statesman. His major weakness is that he does not see anything good in other people or what they do except what he does himself.”

Abubakar also noted that Fayose was a strong opposition in the country and said this was a necessary ingredient of democracy.

Fayose also condemned the redeployment of the former commissioner of police in Ekiti, Wilson Ilalegwu, barely three months after he assumed duty at the state’s command and removal of the state’s head of Department of State Services.

He said: “A governor was elected and not appointed. But if those already posted from Buhari’s state have come to do some hatchet job in Ekiti, they should have a rethink. Ekiti is very peaceful, nobody should come and destabilise it. These are steps taken ahead of 2018 governorship election. The Federal Government should not do anything funny.”
