Vampire killed her girlfriend and 6 members of her family

A notorious kidnapper Henry Chibueze popularly known as Vampire is dead. Vampire was killed by the police after he and members of his gang were engaged in a midnight gun battle.

Vampire made headlines in January after members of his gang in a daring move stormed the Owerri High Court in Imo State where he was facing trial and rescued him while also killing two persons.

Vanguard reports that operatives from the Inspector General of Police Special Intelligence Response Team trailed him to his hideout in Omu-Awa forest in Ikwerre local government area of Rivers State in the early hours of Thursday, March 2 where he was killed after a shootout.

Also, five other members of his gang were also arrested by the IRT operatives led by Assistant Commissioner of Police, Abba Kyari, in Imo, Abia and Rivers States and are being detained at the Imo state command.

The suspects confessed to being behind the daring rescue of Vampire when he appeared in court in January.

The also confessed that they carried out four other kidnappings after the rescue of Vampire.

A police officer as well as three members of the criminal gang sustained bullet wounds.

It will be recalled that Vampire made headlines in 2013 when he carried out the heinous killing of Vampire made headlines in 2013 when he carried out the heinous killing of “his girlfriend, Sandra Ijedinma, at Igando area of Lagos State, with an AK47 assault rifle and opened fire on everyone present in the apartment, killing his girlfriend, her elder sister, Praise Ozor and her two children.”

He continued his killing in the nearby street where one of Sandra’s elder sisters resided and killed the woman and three of her children.

While a manhunt was launched to capture him in Lagos, he moved to Imo state where he and members of his gang carried out several high-profile kidnappings.

His attempt to kidnap the tribunal Judges, handling Election Petition in Imo state, proved abortive as he was cornered by security operatives but managed to escape with gunshot wounds.

Operatives of the Department of State Services however trailed him to the house of his elder brother’s wife, in Ohafia, Abia State, where he had gone to treat himself and arrested him.

While awaiting trial in February 2016, he formed another gang with the help of a prison official identified as Chukwuma Agim and carried out several kidnapping in Imo state.

In one operation, he received N5 million as ransom for a middle-aged man but he met his waterloo when he engaged security operatives in a shootout leading to his death.
