Six Boko Haram Members, 3 Soldiers Killed In Borno

Nigerian Army yesterday annouced that three soldiers and six Boko Haram insurgents died after a battle in Borno state.

Army spokesman Brigadier General Sani Usman, in a statement disclosed that troops suffered the casualties after an encounter with insurgents in Damboa local government area of Borno state.

He explained that the troops also recovered Shilka and Gun Truck from fleeing Boko Haram members.

Usman said during the encounter, the troops neutralized large number of terrorists and wounded several others.

He said they recovered items which include 9 AK-47 rifles, 3 Fabrique Nationale rifles, 2 Rocket Propelled Grenade Bombs, 1 Mortar Tube, 1 Shilka, 1 Gun truck mounted with Anti-Aircraft Gun and 2 Hilux vehicles.

He said: “Unfortunately however, 3 soldiers paid the supreme price, while 5 others were wounded in action. Similarly, 1 Mine-Resistant, Ambush-Protected vehicle belonging to the Brigade was badly damaged.”
