Veterinary officers said they thought the dog had rabies, a vaccine-preventable viral disease, but their studies revealed that it was healthy.

The officers said the dog was humanely put to sleep (killed) on Wednesdy, February 1, with euthatal injection, at the Central Veterinary Clinic in Abuko because it was not safe for it to be living in the community.
