Four People Dead As Cults Clash In Imo

No less than four people in Awara, Ochia and Assa communities of Ohaji/Egbema in Imo state dead as a result of ravaging cult group identified as Ashland.

This is coming when the state government through the state amnesty committee headed by the wife of the Governor Nneoma Nkechi Okorocha has been working to grant the youths freedom.

An indigene of the community, Master Okey Ebekue told Daily Trust yesterday in Owerri that the cult group since this festive period had been terrorizing the communities with sporadic shooting and brandishing of arms

He said that so far four indigenes of the three communities had been killed by the cult group.

Another indigene Kelechi Nwalua who confirmed the situation said that his family traveled home for the Christmas celebration yet they could not have rest of mind because of the activities of the cultists, while another indigene told Daily Trust that his family could not travel home because of the activities of the cult group in his community

The Commissioner of Police in Imo state CP Lakanu Taiwo, could not be reached by press time as his mobile phone rang severally without a response.
