Residents of Birnin Gwari Local Government Area (LGA) of Kaduna State on Saturday reportedly received yet another life-threatening visit by dreaded terrorists.
The assailants according to reports reaching Naija News on Monday, carried out three operations in different communities of the LGA where they whisked away no fewer than 22 people after killing three.
The Chairman, Birnin-Gwari Emirate Progressives Union (BEPU), Ishaq Kasai who confirmed the incident to newsmen said the terrorists first attacked Hanyi Gada at about night hour and looted several shops.
He said they also snatched away motorcycles from residents.
Kasai said, “Terrorists continue to attack locals, particularly farmers in different communities in Birnin-Gwari LGA of Kaduna State.
“On Saturday, September 24, 2022 around 7:30 pm, the terrorists invaded Hayin Gada of Damari Community in Kazage Ward, killed two locals (namely; Sanusi Zubairu and Kabiru Zubairu) and kidnapped 12 persons. They also looted shops in the same community during the attack.”
While lamenting the security situation in the area, the resident affirmed that another group of terrorists on the same day, stormed a farm centre located around Birnin-Gwari/Kaduna Road and abducted at least six persons after killing one.
They also kidnapped four others at Dajin Jangali and seized three motorcycles (Bajaj Model) from farmers in the Kamfanin Doka area.
Kasai said BEPU is worried by the constant attacks and the union is on alert to inform relevant authorities to intensify efforts towards combating terrorist activities in Birnin-Gwari LGA, especially at this early crop harvesting period.
Naija News understands that the state police command is yet to issue any official statement regarding the latest attack in the LGA.
