Muslim-Muslim Ticket: Dogara, Others To Announce Party To Counter APC

A former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara has disclosed that a platform to be supported against the presidential ticket of the All Progressives Congress (APC) will soon be made public.

Dogara has never hidden his stand against the decision of the APC to field a Muslim-Muslim ticket for the 2023 presidential election and he, alongside others in his camp have said they won’t support the candidacy of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and his running mate, Senator Kashim Shettima.

Reiterating the stand, Dogara over the weekend announced that they would soon announce a party to support for the 2023 presidential election.

Speaking over the weekend in Jos, Plateau State during a magazine launch where he was represented by a former member who represented Pankshin, Kanke Kanam federal constituency of Plateau State, Hon. Timothy Golu, Dogara said they are consulting with other Christian and Muslim leaders and would soon announce the platform to be adopted for the 2023 presidency.

He said, “We rose against the same faith ticket because of its divisive tendencies.

Muslim-Muslim Ticket Will Fail

Dogara last week stated that the presidential candidate of APC, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, failed to listen to the national outcry regarding the same faith ticket and also dismissed the consequences of the action.

The former Speaker insisted the Muslim-Muslim ticket of the APC will fail.

He said this in Abuja on Tuesday at a summit tagged, ‘Meet The Church,’ organised by the Nigeria National Christian Coalition with the theme: ‘The role of the church in nation-building’.

The former speaker asserted that the adoption Muslim-Muslim ticket by the ruling party is a fruitless political effort that has been doomed to end in spectacular failure.
