Former national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Uche Secondus has accepted to work with the opposition party’s presidential flagbearer, Atiku Abubakar, in the forthcoming 2023 election.

Naija News reports that the party chieftain was appointed to play an advisory role in Atiku’s presidential campaign team ahead of the 2023 polls.

Confirming the appointment and showing his approval, Secondus took to his official Twitter handle on Monday to express readiness to work with the former vice president.

According to him, the mission initiated by the party to rescue Nigeria in 2018 will now come to fulfilment in 2023.

Secondus tweeted: “I have just received the news of my appointment as Technical Adviser to H.E @atiku Abubakar in his 2023 Presidential Campaign.

“The mission to Rescue Nigeria that was initiated in 2018 will come to a fulfilment by the Special Grace of Almighty God”.

Naija News, however, recalled that Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, has in the time past warned Secondus and other persons from the Southern region against rubbing shoulders with his enemies in Abuja.

The aggrieved PDP chieftain during a live broadcast in late August where he was addressing a gathering at Omagwa in Ikwerre Local Government Area of Rivers, said he would crush anyone siding with his former ally.

“We will take every might we have, we will leave our enemy and finish you first. All of you going to Abuja to hold meetings with our enemies, I’m going to finish you to the last”, Wike vowed.

In a swift response, Secondus condemned Wike’s statement describing it as a disdainful threat.

“Wike, you cannot crush anybody. I cannot fight or join issues with you, only God can crush”, said the former PDP leader.
