Only Son Of Aged Parents Among Presidential Guards Killed By Terrorists In Abuja – Sister Confirms

One of the officers of the Nigerian Army killed by terrorists on Sunday in Abuja was the only son of his aged parents, Naija News gathered.

The slain officer, identified as Captain Samuel Attah lost his life when the guard’s brigade 7 battalion ran into an ambush by gunmen in Abuja.

As earlier reported by this platform, the soldiers of the 7 Guards Battalion were on routine patrol along Kubwa – Bwari road on Sunday when they ran into the ambush by the terrorists in the nation’s capital city.

It was gathered that the terrorists killed two officers and six soldiers attached to the Guards Brigade during the attack while three other soldiers were wounded.

Reacting to the worrying development, the sister of one of the killed soldiers took to her Facebook page on Monday to mourn the death of her brother.

Identified as Attachegbe Rita Samuel, she disclosed in an emotional post that her brother, the slain Captain Samuel was the only son of their aged parents.

She wrote: “My pride, my hero, my beloved brother…Hmmm I lack words to express this dream. I can’t believe I am typing this.

“Rest in a very perfect peace. Captain Attah Samuel. God! God! God! Jesus help my family, my aged parents. Ah! Only son! Who shall defend us!.”

Few minutes later, she wrote again: “Our pride, hero, the only son and beloved brother.
“What shall undo this shock?
“God comfort us & our aged parents.
“So hard & difficult to accept.
“We love you.
“Meet you at Jesus feet.”

Two Killed Officers Hailed From Kogi State – Yahaya Bello

The Kogi State Governor, Yayaha Bello while mourning the sad incident, revealed that two of the officers who lost their lives in the Abuja attack hailed from Kogi.

He identified them as Captain Samuel Attah and Lieutenant Ibrahim Suleiman.

The Governor made the disclosure in a statement released on Tuesday by his Chief Press Secretary, Muhammed Onogwu.

“Kogi State governor, Yahaya Bello, has expressed grief over the death of Army officers killed during an ambush on the Presidential Brigade Guard on Sunday by suspected terrorists after the Army responded to a distress call from the Nigeria Law School, Bwari,” the statement reads.

“Two out of the fallen gallant officers, namely, Captain Samuel Attah and Lieutenant Ibrahim Suleiman were illustrious sons of Kogi State,” it added.
