The National leadership of Labour Party (LP) has appointed Mr Kayode Ezekiel Salako, the husband to Nollywood actress Foluke Daramola, as the Lagos State chairman of the party.

The party sent a letter to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) stating that the expiration of the tenure of the current Caretaker Committee in Lagos State has led to the party’s decision to reposition it’s state of affairs for effective service, hence the reason for the appointment of a new chairman

The letter, which read in part, said, “by this appointment, they are expected to provide effective leadership for our Party, by ensuring its growth and development in terms of membership drive, providing a voice for the voiceless, canvassing alternative government policies in line with our philosophy and ideology, as well as prepare the party for the extraordinary convention of the party, which shall be coming up in few weeks time.”

Ezekiel Salako is a political analyst, educationist, human rights crusader and grassroots political titan of many years in the country.
