2023: Peter Obi Receives Labour Party’s Certificate Of Return

Former Anambra State Governor and presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi has received his certificate of return after emerging as the flagbearer for the 2023 polls.

This is coming amidst speculations that Peter might be rejoining the Peoples Democratic Party as Atiku Abubakar’s running mate.

Peter Obi received the certificate at the Labour Party National Office Abuja on Friday, 10th June, in the presence of party members.

The Twitter post reads: “Mr. Peter Obi Receives Labour Party Certificate of Returns as its Presidential Candidate for 2023 presidential elections. Congratulations!!”

Naija News recall that Obi emerged as the winner of the LP presidential primaries held on May 30 in Asaba, Delta State, while Jude Ezenwafor was said to have won another election organised by a faction of the party.

However, Ezenwafor on Thursday stepped down as the presidential candidate of the parallel faction.

In an interview with TheCable, INEC spokesman, Festus Okoye said the electoral umpire only recognises the presidential primary that produced Obi as the LP’s presidential candidate.
