Tinubu’s Emergence As APC Flagbearer – Important Political Transition Milestone In Nigeria Says Yakasai

Alhaji Tanko Yakasai, a former special adviser on national assembly matters to former President, late Alhaji Shehu Shagari, has described the emergence of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the All Progressive Congress,(APC) official candidate, as an important political transition for Nigeria.

This was just as he noted that if elected as president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, his term will signify the complete and total break of the country from military rule and its direct influence, and the emergence of full fledge democratic tradition and practice for the first time since 1999 when our country returned to the path of civilian rule.

Making the disclosure on Thursday in a statement signed and made available to pressmen in Kano, Alhaji Yakasai added that if Senator Tinubu is eventually elected as the President of the country, he will be transformed from the APC National Leader to a National Leader of Nigeria.

His words “It is gratifying to note and appreciate the nomination of candidates by our major Political Parties to have emanated from non-military actors or background’

“I find it expedient to appeal to all candidates vying for various political offices in the country to commit themselves to the principle of playing politics by the rule of the game, eschew bitterness and do away with political thuggery and return the country to the route of civility in the conduct of partisan politics.” Alhaji Yakasai said

He then added a prayer by saying, ‘May their emergence be the harbinger of the return of playing politics with decorum and without bitterness and the beginning of the arduous task of finding viable strategies that will enhance the needed nation cohesion, a prerequisite for sincere nation building.”
