Service Chiefs Reveal When Insecurity Will End In Nigeria

President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday evening met with the newly appointed Service Chiefs at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

The meeting is currently being held behind closed-doors at the nation’s seat of power.

In attendance at the meeting on Wednesday include the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the President, Femi Adesina; Chief of Staff to the President, Ibrahim Gambari, amongst others.

Although details of the meeting was unknown as of the time of filing this report but it may not be unconnected to the nation’s anti-terrorism war in the North-East.

Naija News reports that President Buhari on Tuesday appointed new service chiefs for the nation after he sacked the previous ones.

This was confirmed on Tuesday in a tweet from presidential media aide, Femi Adesina in which he also quoted the president as appreciating the outgone service chiefs for their performance.

The new service chiefs include Maj Gen LEO Irabor as the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), Maj Gen I Attahiru as Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Rear Admiral A Z Gambo as Chief of Naval Staff (CNS), and AVM I O Amao as Chief of Air Staff (CAS).

Recall that Buhari had also met with Governors Rotimi Akeredolu and Seyi Makinde of Ondo and Oyo State respectively.

The president also met with the Ooni of Ife, Oba Enitan Adeyeye Ogunwusi over the herdsmen crisis rocking the South-west.
