Ahead of the 2020 governorship election in Edo State, some women have been caught on camera presenting their permanent voters’ cards in exchange for Ankara materials.
Though the date and venue of the incident could not be confirmed as at the time of publishing the story, those distributing the Ankara materials could be seen wearing face caps bearing the inscription ‘POI.’
POI in this sense, represents Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu who is the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the 2020 governorship election.
However, Naija News recalls Ize-Iyamu was also the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) during the 2016 governorship election in the state.
He contested and lost against the incumbent governor, Godwin Obaseki who ran on the platform of the APC then.
Obaseki who is seeking a second term in office is contesting the 2020 election on the platform of the PDP.
