Court Dismisses Case Against Naira Marley

The alleged car theft case against Nigerian singer, Naira Marley, whose real name is Azeez Fashola has been dismissed by a Magistrate court sitting in Lagos.

This follows the withdrawal of the case by the complainant, Mr. Adelekan Ademola who opted for an out of court settlement with the defendants.

Mr. Ademola had last year, filed a car theft case against Naira Marley his two brothers, and their cousin.

Ruling on the matter Tuesday morning, Chief Magistrate of Tinubu Magistrates’ Court, Tajudeen Elias discharged the case after receiving a letter of withdrawal of the case.

Mr Elias struck out the four-count charge of conspiracy, stealing, assault and obstructing the police from arresting against Marley, his two brothers Idris Fashola, 18; Babatunde Fashola, 24; and their cousin, Kunle Obere, 22 who were the defendants in the case.

The Magistrate said, “In view of the letter of withdrawal, the defendants are hereby discharged”.

Marley was absent, with his team noting the singer was out of the country on medical treatment but the other defendants were in court.
