El-Rufai Begs On Behalf Of Yahaya Bello

Ahead of Saturday’s governorship election in Kogi State, the electorates have been begged to forgive Governor Yahaya Bello who is seeking a second term in office.

A now viral video shows Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, on his knees begging the people of the state to forgive Bello and elect him for a second term in office as Governor.

Naija News understands this happened on Thursday at the All Progressives Congress (APC) mega rally in Lokoja, the Kogi State capital.

It will be recalled that El-Rufai is the Chairman of the APC Gubernatorial Campaign in Kogi State.

Also in attendance at the rally were the First Lady, Dr. Mrs Aisha Buhari; wife of the Vice President, Mrs Dolapo Osinbajo; and the National Chairman of the APC, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole.

El-Rufai said at the rally, “Many people say Yahaya Bello is young and that he has fought many people. For every one that the governor has offended, I am asking all of you to forgive him. He is young, he is supposed to make mistakes.

“When you are young, you make mistakes, but you are supposed to learn from him. On his behalf, I am kneeling down to beg all of you to forgive Yahaya Bello if he has offended you.”

The Kaduna State Governor also listed Bello’s achievements in office since he was elected Kogi governor.

“He cares about this state, he has brought progress to this state, he has brought young people into government, he has brought women into government. He has brought physical progress; he has cleared salary arrears that he inherited from previous governments.

“You must all come out and support him. I beg you all.”
