Wike Gives Emir New Appointment 

Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike has approved the appointment of His Royal Highness, Emir of Lafia, Sidi M. Bage CON, JSC (rtd).

Naija News understands that Wike appointed the Emir of Lafia as the Chancellor of the Rivers State University, Port Harcourt.

Wike made the appointment recently as part of his exercise of the powers conferred on him by S. 3 and Schedule 1 of the Rivers State University Law, 2017.

The appointment was made public in a statement by the Special Assistant to the Rivers State Governor, Electronic Media, Simeon Nwakaudu.

Nwakaudu in his statement said that the appointment takes effect immediately.
