Clarify Your Position On El-Rufai Choice Of Running Mate – Shehu Sani Tells President Buhari

The Senator representing Kaduna Central, Shehu Sani, has called on President Muhammadu Buhari to clarify his involvement in the choice of a Muslim by the Kaduna State governor, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, as his running mate for the 2019 governorship election in the state.

El-Rufai chioce of Dr. Hadiza Balarabe as his running mate has caused critics to lash out at him.

Naija News reports that the governor stated that he had consulted Buhari before he made the choice of Dr. Hadiza Balarabe as his running mate.

The Senator doubted that President Buhari had given his support to the governor’s choice of a Christian as his running mate.

The Kaduna lawmaker then urged the President to clarify his position on the matter.

Sani, on his Twitter page, wrote: “President’s name is dragged into the politics of manipulation of religion in Kaduna state, there’s the need for him to make a public clarification.

“It’s puzzling that a President who has always respected religious sensitivities, when nominating his vice could have recommended otherwise for Kaduna.”
